Who Are The Wicked? - Soul Choice Ministries

There is no question that people like Hitler, and every other murderer and rapist are wicked. But who else is wicked according to the Bible? All people who reject Jesus Christ as Savior are also considered wicked in God’s eyes.

Matthew 13:38, The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one.

We read that the people who do not belong to God’s family are the children of the wicked one.

Ecclesiastes 3:17, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked.

Proverbs 15:29, The Lord is far from the wicked, But He hears the prayer of the righteous.

These verses tell us that anyone who is not righteous is considered wicked. Who then is considered righteous? Only those who repent of their sins and receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior are righteous in the Lord’s eyes.

How exactly is a person made righteous?

Matthew 9:13, For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance. Repentance of sin is a requirement to be made righteous.

Luke 1:6, And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. Obeying God’s commands shows that we have been made righteous.

1 Timothy 1:9, The law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers.

A righteous person does not do the evil things mentioned.

1 John 3:12, Not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother’s (were) righteous.

1 Peter 3:12, For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.

1 John 3:7, Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.

1 John 2:29, If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.

Choosing to be Born Again is a requirement of righteousness.

In the next verse we discover the condition of the whole world without Jesus.

1 John 5:19, The whole world lies in wickedness.

Psalms 9:17, The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all nations that forget God.

The only possible way for a person to enter heaven is to be made righteous. The only way to be made righteous is to repent, receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and obey God’s commands.

Jesus said in Luke 8:21, My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.

Being obedient to the Word of God shows that we have been made righteous by trusting in the shed blood of Jesus for our sins.
