Sowing and Reaping - Soul Choice Ministries

Galatians 6:7 says, “Whatever a man sows, that shall he reap.” This is a spiritual law which operates just as effectively as the law of gravity. Scripture shows us just how precise this law is. It should cause all of us to be more aware and careful with our actions.

In Genesis 27:16 and Genesis 37:18-33, Jacob deceived his father with the skins of goats. He wanted his father to think he was Esau, his brother. Then later in life, Jacob was deceived by his own sons with the skins of goats. What Jacob used to deceive his father with, he was deceived with by his sons. Jacob reaped exactly what he had done

Revelation 16:4-6 says, “The rivers and fountains of water and they became blood and I heard the angel, the waters say, thou art righteous, O Lord, for they have shed the blood of the saints and the profits and you have given them blood to drink.” They shed the blood of the saints and God gave him blood to drink. Deuteronomy 28:47, 48 says, “Because you serve not the Lord, therefore you will serve your enemies.” Revelation 13:10 says, “He that leads into captivity shall go into captivity. He that kills with a sword shall be killed with a sword.” Matthew 6:12, “Forgive our debts as we are forgiven.” We have to forgive others so we can be forgiven. James 5:16 says, “Pray ye one for another that ye may be healed.” If you want to be healed than you must pray for others to be healed.

Habakkuk 2:8 states, “Because thou has spoiled many nations, all the remnant of the people shall Spoil thee.” And in Proverbs 22:8 it says, “He who sows iniquity will reap sorrow.” In 2 Corinthians 9:6 it says, “He would sow sparingly shall reap sparingly.” You give a little and you will get a little. Proverbs 18:24, “A man that has friends must show himself friendly.” If you want friends than you’ve got to be friendly. And Numbers 14:2 speaks about the children of Israel when they were wandering in the wilderness. They complained. They were told that they could take the promised land, but they didn’t believe God. Instead they murmured and complained about it. They said, “We should’ve died in Egypt or in this wilderness.” So God heard them and in Verse 28 He said, “As you have spoken in my ears, so will I do to you? Your carcasses shall fall in the wilderness.”
They complained and said they all should have died and so they did. All those from the age of 20 years and upward died.

The law of sowing and reaping is very specific. If you are a believer, you can repent of your sins and prevent some of the consequences you would otherwise have reaped. There can however be some permanent results due to our wrong decisions. Sowing and reaping can produce good or bad in our lives. This law works for everyone, believers and unbelievers alike. Therefore, let us sow good things like love, forgiveness, being generous to spread the Gospel, and helping those in need.
