Only One Way
People will say, “You Christians are narrow minded because you think Jesus is the only way. I don’t like this one way business that you promote.” In reality, they ought to stop complaining that there’s only one way, and be grateful that there is a way. He made a way where there was none, and if we think about it, most things in life only work one way.
If you’re going to fly a plane, the wing has to be configured a certain size and shape to create the law of lift, and you have to have the right amount of thrust, and many other specifics must be in place.
If you’re going to wire money, you must have the exact routing number, account number, and so forth.
If you’re going to perform a surgery, there is only on way to do that surgery correctly or someone’s life may be at stake.
So why do people take this sloppy, loose, approach to the things of God? What makes them think all roads should lead to heaven? There is only one way.
Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life, and no man comes unto the Father, but by me.”
1 Timothy 2:5 says, “There is only one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus.”
Acts 4:12 says, “There is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved, the name of Jesus.”
John 3:36 says, “He that believes in the Son has everlasting life, but he that believes not in the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” These are the words of God.
Now you can either believe them, or you can reject them, but Jesus said in Luke 13:3, “Unless a man repent, you shall all likewise perish.” “Repent” means to turn away from a sinful lifestyle.
In Romans 10:9-10 it says, “If we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in our heart that God’s raised Him from the dead, we shall be saved.” You have to believe Him in your own heart, and confess Him with your own mouth. That is the only way of salvation. You can believe His words or you can reject them. It’s up to you.
You’re going to stand before God at Judgment Day. He will ask you, “What did you do with my Son? Did you believe He died in your place? Did you confess your sins? Did you repent of your sins?” You would have to say, “You know what? I didn’t believe it. I believed He was a liar.” Maybe you thought he was a lunatic, or you just didn’t care but I wouldn’t want to stand before a holy God and utter those words.
You have an opportunity right now to change your eternity. It’s up to you where you will spend the afterlife. God gives you the free will to choose. Will you choose Him, or will you reject Him?
