Do You See How Satan Works?
I want to share something with you that I recently discovered in the Word of God. Did you know that Satan primarily uses the eyes as a portal to man’s soul, but God primarily uses the ears to reach man’s soul? Please read these next verses:
Genesis 3:6 says, “And when the woman saw that the tree was good.” Satan was tempting the woman with the fruit using her eyes. She saw that it was good.
2 Samuel 11:2, “And from the roof he saw the woman.” David was tempted with his eyes when he saw Bathsheba.
Matthew 4:8, “The devil showed Jesus all the kingdoms of the world.” He tried to tempt Jesus by showing him the kingdoms of the world.
Mark 9:47, “If your eye offends thee, pluck it out.” The word offend means causes you to sin. God is saying to get rid of the eye if it’s going to cause you to sin.
Job 24:15, “The eye also of the adulterer waits for the twilight.” Again, man is tempted with the eye.
Deuteronomy 28:54, “His eye shall be evil.”
Luke 11:34, “The light of the body is the eye.” Satan uses the eye because man is vulnerable and tempted by his eye. This is the lust of his eye.
The Bible also gives many examples in scripture of God using our ear to get through to us. We need to be quiet because He is speaking to us all the time but we need to listen. Look at the following verses:
Matthew 13:15, “Their ears are dull of hearing.” Jesus said this about the Pharisees. They didn’t want to hear.
Matthew 11:15, “He that has ears to hear let him hear.” Jesus repeated this phrase 10 times in scripture. He is trying to get through to us and tell us to listen.
Revelation 2:7, “He that has ears to hear let him hear.” Jesus said this phrase 7 times in the Book of Revelation.
John 10:27, “My sheep hear my voice.” Because we are his sheep, we can hear him.
John 8:43 says, “Because you cannot hear my word.” He was talking to the Pharisees. They didn’t want to hear his word.
Acts 7:57 (When they were stoning Stephen) says, “Then they cried out with a loud voice and stopped their ears from hearing.” They didn’t want to hear what Stephen was saying. They couldn’t even stand to listen to him.
Mark 4:24, “Take heed what you hear.”
Luke 8:18, “Take heed how you hear.”
John 12:47, “If any man hear my words.”
If Jesus emphasized the ear over and over again, than this is an important thing to pay attention to. We must be careful what we allow into our ears and our eyes, as it enters into our heart.
As Proverbs 4:23 says, “Guard your heart above all else for it determines the course of your life.”
