Are You Ready For Worldwide Devastation?

Many of us have faced very challenging circumstances throughout life. At times, it feels like we will not survive the storm. We pray, help comes from friends, we experience pain and suffering, and somehow we make it through. As believers, we endure because we choose to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and His grace.

However, there is a time coming upon the earth that was foretold in the Bible, in the book of Revelation. This is a warning. The book of Revelation is not meant to be taken allegorically, as many mistakenly teach. There is coming a seven-year period that will be the worst time in all of human history. The Bible warns us so we can prepare. We are drawing near to what Scripture calls the Tribulation. The devastation will be worldwide and far worse than can be imagined.

This warning is especially for those who do not know the Lord Jesus personally—those who would not call themselves born-again Christians. Jesus said in John 3:3 that we must be born again spiritually. At the same time, Christians should recognize this window of opportunity to share the message of salvation with as many people as possible. Jesus commanded us to go into all the world and preach the Gospel. Now is that time.

There are 38 separate disasters described during this seven-year period, and there is only one way to escape it. This time has not yet begun. During this period, the Antichrist, a global leader, will rise to power amid chaos, disaster, and crisis, and will begin conquering the earth.

Peace will vanish, and violence will increase dramatically. There will be extreme inflation, and food will become scarce. Early in this period, two billion people will die from war, famine, plagues, and even attacks from the animal kingdom. Great earthquakes will occur, and the sky will be darkened by volcanic eruptions. Asteroids will strike the earth, and the sky will appear to roll up like a scroll. Mountains and islands will be moved from their places.

Hail and fire mixed with blood will fall to the earth, along with more devastating earthquakes. One-third of all trees will be burned up, and all grass on the earth will be destroyed. A massive asteroid will poison one-third of the world’s water, turning it bitter, and a third of all ships will be destroyed.

One-third of the sea will become blood, and one-third of marine life will die. Demonic beings will be released and will torment people with unbearable pain for five months—so severe that people will desire death but will not be able to die.

Later, all bodies of water—oceans, rivers, and lakes—will turn to blood. Scripture states that every living thing in the sea will die. There will be no clean water left on earth.

The Antichrist will kill anyone who refuses to worship him or take his mark on their forehead or hand. Without this mark, no one will be able to buy or sell. Those who refuse will be executed. Those who accept the mark will suffer plagues and eternal judgment. During this time, billions more will die.

These are only some of the events that will occur during those seven years. It may sound unbelievable, but Scripture presents it as truth. Jesus said in Matthew 24:21, “For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.” Very few will survive. In Matthew 24:22, He said that unless those days were shortened, no one would survive.

The good news is that believers in Christ will be spared from this time. Jesus instructed us in Luke 21:36 to watch and pray that we may be counted worthy to escape these things. This is the hope of the Church—the catching away, often called the rapture.

Some may accuse this message of being fear-driven. But any reasonable person living apart from Christ should be concerned about what is coming, and even more about eternal separation from God. Scripture calls believers to warn others. Jude 23 says to save others with fear, pulling them out of the fire. The Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 5:11, “Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men.” Warning people of danger is an act of love.

For believers, this raises important questions. Have you truly repented? Are you living ready to meet the Lord Jesus? Does your life show evidence of spiritual fruit and obedience to God’s Word? This kind of life does not happen without daily time in Scripture and prayer.

Do you have a sincere concern for those who are lost? Are you sharing your faith? We have a limited window of opportunity. Living prepared to meet Jesus should be our highest priority.

Jesus said in Mark 16:15, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” The Gospel is the good news that salvation is available to every person through Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:3–4 explains it clearly: Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures.

The Bible also makes clear that judgment is coming. 2 Thessalonians 1:8–9 says that those who do not obey the Gospel will be punished with everlasting destruction, separated from the presence of the Lord. Ephesians 5:6 warns that the wrath of God comes upon the disobedient.

Some may ask why God would remove believers from this time when Christians throughout history have suffered persecution. The difference is that past suffering has come from sinful humanity. The Tribulation is different. It is a time when God’s wrath is poured out on the entire earth. This has never happened before.

Scripture emphasizes repeatedly that believers are not appointed to wrath. 1 Thessalonians 5:9 says that God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through Jesus Christ. Romans 5:9 declares that we are saved from wrath through Him. First Thessalonians 1:10 reminds us that Jesus delivers us from the wrath to come.

In John 14:6, Jesus said that He is the only way. He is the only way to escape what is coming and, more importantly, to avoid eternal separation from God.

As believers, let us reach as many people as possible before this time begins.
