5 Ways God Warns Of Hell

There are at least five different ways God warns humanity. Some people still accuse God of being unfair. They ask about the person living in a remote jungle who has never heard of Jesus and wonder, “Would God send that person to hell too?” Let us consider how God reveals Himself to mankind.

First, God Gives Us Creation

Creation itself displays overwhelming evidence of design, which points to a Designer. When we observe the intricacies of life, the harmony and order found throughout nature, and the detailed design in every aspect of creation, it becomes clear that there must be a Creator.

Romans 1:20 says: “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.”

Consider the development of a baby in the womb. The stages of growth, the formation of every organ in its proper place, and the perfect timing of the entire process are nothing short of miraculous. The symmetry and complexity of the human body reveal incredible design.

There are countless other examples. If we found a beautifully crafted watch lying in the sand on a beach, no one would believe it formed accidentally over millions of years through wind, rain, and time. That idea would seem absurd. Yet the human wrist that wears the watch is far more complex than the watch itself. It is difficult to believe that such intricate design happened by accident.

Second, God Gives Us a Conscience

God has given every person a conscience to recognize right from wrong and to sense His existence. The Bible says:

“The truth about God is known to them instinctively because God has put this knowledge into their hearts” (Romans 1:19, NLT).

Even children know when they have done something wrong. Our conscience functions like an internal guide.

Sadly, many people ignore their conscience. Over time, the Bible says it can become “seared as with a hot iron” (1 Timothy 4:2). The only way to restore sensitivity to our conscience is through repentance — turning away from sin and seeking God’s forgiveness. Even believers must remain quick to repent in order to maintain a tender heart before God.

Third, God Gives Us the Bible

God has given us the Bible, His written Word, filled with clear instruction and direction.

When people buy or sell property, they want agreements clearly written and legally documented. We naturally place value on written contracts because they establish truth and accountability. How much more should we value God’s written Word?

Unlike human agreements, which still depend on the character of imperfect people, God’s Word comes from a perfect and faithful Creator. Jesus clearly warned that hell and judgment are real, and that salvation comes only through faith in Him.

Fourth, God Gives Us Other People

God places people in our lives to tell us about Him and how to receive eternal life. Throughout history, He has raised up preachers, missionaries, teachers, and believers to spread the gospel around the world.

Today, technology allows the message of Jesus Christ to reach places once considered inaccessible. With smartphones, internet access, radio broadcasts, and translated Bibles, the gospel continues to spread even into remote regions of the earth.

Fifth, God Gives People Dreams and Visions

The Bible says God can use dreams and visions to warn people and “keep back his soul from the pit” (Job 33:14–24).

There have been many documented accounts, especially in the Middle East and other remote regions, of individuals receiving dreams that led them to seek God. One remarkable story involved a remote tribe that had never knowingly been reached with the gospel. When missionaries finally arrived, one tribal leader asked:

“Are you the ones who were supposed to come and tell us about the Golden Book and the Savior?”

According to those involved, the tribe had never previously encountered missionaries or heard the gospel message. Yet somehow they had learned there was a special book and a Savior. How could they have known unless God had revealed it to them?

God’s Warnings Reveal His Mercy

God’s continual warnings demonstrate His patience, kindness, and long-suffering toward humanity. His love is beyond measure.

No one will stand before God on Judgment Day and truthfully accuse Him of being unfair. God has revealed Himself through creation, conscience, Scripture, other people, and even supernatural means.

Everyone is without excuse before their Creator.
