Luke 16 – The Rich Man In Hell

There are many who believe Luke 16 was a parable. They believe that the verses are figurative, and not literal in nature. Do we believe that there are pearly gates in heaven, that the streets are made of gold, and the walls surrounding the New Jerusalem are made of precious stones? (Revelation 21)

If yes, why would we insist that the flames the rich man experienced, his thirst, Abraham, Lazarus, and Moses, and the deep gorge separating the two places, were all not actual as well?
