Demons In Hell

God gave me a vision that I wrote about in my book, 23 Minutes in Hell. In the vision I encountered demons. I was placed in a prison cell (Bible verses about prison cells: Isaiah 24:22; Proverbs 7:27; Job 17:16) and knew I was not alone. I saw two enormous beasts, unlike anything I had ever seen before. I saw demons in hell that the Bible refers to as tormentors, destroyers, evil angels, and the host of the high ones. The creatures weren’t animals, but they weren’t human, either.

Everything I’m describing is already outlined in the scriptures. This is what is important for you to believe, and not necessarily my experience. The verses are all listed in my book.

These creatures were approximately ten to thirteen feet tall with a pure, unrestrained hatred. Each giant beast resembled a reptile in appearance (Revelation 9:3-10; 16:13), but took on human form. Their arms and legs were unequal in length, out of proportion—without symmetry. The first one had bumps and scales all over its grotesque body. It had a huge protruding jaw, gigantic teeth, and large sunken-in eyes. This creature was stout and powerful, with thick legs and abnormally large feet. It was pacing violently around the cell like a caged bull, and its demeanor was extremely ferocious.

The second beast was taller and thinner; with very long arms and razor-sharp fins that covered its body. It had claws that were nearly a foot long. I could hear the demons speaking to each other. Although I could not identify what language it was, somehow I could understand their words. They were awful words—terrible, blasphemous language that spewed from their mouths expressing extreme hatred for God (James 2:7; Revelation 13:6).

Suddenly they turned their attention toward me. At first there were only two demons, but later two more creatures came into the cell, and I had the feeling that these four beings had been “assigned” to me. One of the creatures picked me up and threw me into the wall, but I will not go into that now.

However, I will give you a few verses that indicate demons torment those in hell:

  • Matthew 18:34, Deliver him to the tormentors.
  • Luke 12:47, They will be beaten with many stripes or beaten with few. (Who is doing the beating?)
  • Matthew 24:51, I will cut him in pieces and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites, where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
  • Psalms 50:22, You that forget God, I will tear you in pieces.
  • Psalms 116:3, The pains of hell got hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.
  • Job 33:22, His soul draws near the Pit (dungeon, corruption, decay) and his life to the executioners (destroyers).

These demons have great strength. It was comparable to the weight of a water glass in its hand.

  • Mark 5:3–4 describes a man possessed with a demon with these words: “…no one could bind him, not even with chains…the chains had been pulled apart by him, and the shackles broken in pieces.”
  • 2 Peter 2:11, Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might.
  • Psalms 103:20, His angels, which excel in strength.

Demons are most likely fallen angels according to most commentaries and scholars.

I was extremely
nauseous from the terrible, foul stench coming from these
creatures. It was absolutely disgusting, foul, and rotten. The odor was actually extremely toxic, and that alone should have killed me. I was taken out of the cell and placed next to a large pit of fire where thousands of people were burning and crying out with blood curdling screams.

As I was viewing the demons shoving people back into this massive pit, I also saw snakes, and I was standing on a solid bed of maggots (Isaiah 14:11; Mark 9:48). There were demons of all shapes and sizes lined along this cavern wall. They were hideous and grotesque.

Demons are also on the earth and they can torment a person with fear, sickness, disease, poverty, confusion, turmoil, and destroy the family. Demons can harass a person, and even possess a person. Jesus told us Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy. The Bible instructs us on how to combat the schemes of the devil:

  • James 4:7, Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
  • 1 Peter 5:8, Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour. (He can’t devour everyone).
  • 2 Timothy 2:25-26, Repent…that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. (Repentance is vital).
  • Ephesians 6:11, Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.

When Satan approached Jesus with his temptations, Jesus quoted the word of God to him and he fled. We must do the same, but we need to read the Bible so we know what to quote. As Christians, Jesus gave us authority over demons that attempt to invade our lives. He said in Luke 10:19, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

Will we submit ourselves to God, take the authority we have in Christ to run him off? If we don’t, we will fall prey to demonic attacks.
