The Living And The Dead
The Living and the Dead
The Titanic was said to be unsinkable. However, the engineers and crew failed to realize the fatal encounter that lied ahead.
When the ship set sail that day, there were all different walks of life on board. There were people of varied beliefs and backgrounds, and three different classes of people: the lower, the middle, and the upper class.
The ship struck a huge iceberg and went down to the bottom of the ocean. Many people went down with the ship while others survived the tragic accident. Following the recovery of the survivors, the Star Line office in Liverpool England posted two signs. Each day the people would wait anxiously as a man came out to write down the names of their loved ones on one of the signs. One sign said, “known to be saved’ and the other said, “known to be lost.”
When the ship had departed, there were all different walks of life, all different beliefs, and three classes of people. But in the end, there were only two; those who had been saved and those who were lost. In the end each of us will also be among the saved…or the lost.
Jesus said in Matthew 25:46 that there are only two destinations after this life. We will either make our home in heaven with Him, or we will spend eternity in hell. He also said that knowing and receiving Him is the only way to be saved. You must ask yourself this question: “When I die, what sign will my name be on?”
