Dead But Alive
Dead But Alive
After my 23 Minutes in Hell experience it was difficult to explain to people how it is that you are dead, but still exist and feel pain in hell. Death is separation from God and God is the source of all life. Our spirit and soul lives forever yet in hell you are disconnected from God, who is Life. People exist in a spirit body. It is different from the physical flesh body we live in while here on earth.
Perhaps an analogy will help. It is like living in a 35 mm film negative. The film is not the true photo with all its color and life. It is the reverse of the image, and it is lifeless. It is like a shadow, and not the real person. It is like existing as the living dead.
There are no words that can really describe the horrendous feeling of being separated from God. It is the most lonely, empty, abandoned, completely destitute feeling one could ever imagine. We take for granted all the good we experience in this life on earth. God is good and all good comes from Him. When you remove Him from the situation, all the good goes with Him.
John 3:36 says…He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.
God wants us to live with Him forever as Jesus said in John 17:24. The choice is yours.
